Sometimes you have to look inside to see who you truly want to be - Karen Coccioli

The first line of my book, Paradise, begins with "I came into life stuttering." My speech impediment was only the beginning of a traumatic childhood that left me broken for years. I survived two suicide attempts, twenty years of anorexia, and ten months in a clinic with mental health professionals filling me with drugs while drumming in my head that I wasn't gay. But even though I played by their rules, inside, I never gave up. I always managed to see a light of hope no matter how dim at times until finally, I was free. I learned valuable life lessons along the way that I want to share about redemption, forgiveness, authenticity and ultimately love. The last line of Paradise is: "I'd never be silenced again.
